Optional Excursions!

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of optional excursions at an additional expense. Some excursions are offered during the day on Fridays, when students do not have classes, in which case students depart Heredia in the morning and return to their homestay in the evening. Examples of past Friday excursions include an all-inclusive tour through the Veragua rainforest and a 3-in-one tour to the Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall, and Doka Coffee Estate.

There are also optional activities during the weekend excursions that students can choose to add to their schedule, including ziplining in the Monteverde rainforest, surfing and sunset catamaran tours at the Tamarindo beach, and Canyoning and Waterfall Rappel at the Arenal Volcano. All tours and activities include transportation and entrance fees, instruction from guides, and food and refreshments if the tour occurs during mealtimes. LPI directors will accompany students on any optional excursions and activities and will make sure that at least one director stays with any students who choose not to go
